Design and fabrication of a testing apparatus to improve the performance and repeatability of impact testing in the Yale Mechanical Engineering Teaching Lab including a high velocity impact tester for NASA Thermal Protective Systems (TPS) tiles and an impact hammer device for high strain rate tensile/compression testing in addition to Charpy/Izod tests.
